If you love running, then you live in the right city. This coming April 14-16, hop on down to Boylston Street to check out this Expo that has attracted over 100,000 attendees in past years. While the event itself isn’t a place to get a workout in, you’re almost guaranteed to leave feeling inspired to get out on the pavement, since you’ll walk away with tips and fitness freebies from 200+ vendors (past vendors have included Gatorade, Clif Bar, and Adidas). This event is a preview to the infamous Boston Marathon, happening that April 17, so your whole family will be able to revel in the buzz and excitement! The event is free and open to the public, so feel free to check out their website for more information.

They’ve partnered up with a variety of fitness professionals to run a diverse bunch of fitness classes right on the Esplanade throughout July, August, and September. The roster last year included Zumba, CrossFit, yoga, and a running club. Past years have been free and open to the public, so be sure to check out their website for updates on the 2017 schedule.

The popular sport of obstacle course racing is coming back to the home of our beloved Red Sox for the sixth time (November 4-5). Believe it or not, the Spartan Race organization has found a way to contrive a 3-5 mile course packed with at least 20 “signature Spartan obstacles” all inside the famed stadium. Get down on the field, up in the stands, and everywhere you’ve never been in Fenway–all while having a great workout and a blast with your friends. Spots fill up fast, so if you’re interested, check out their website for more info.
